After reading George Couros’ book, Innovator's Mindset. I wrote a book review. I published a tweet about it, and Mr. Couros contacted me via Twitter message. He loved my group's book review, and joined my online class to offer time for questions and answers. It was a wonderful experience.
Mr. Couros made the last night of class extra-special, as he is a speaker all over the world, and a driving force in transforming schools for the better. The biggest takeaway from his message was that students need to be empowered, because empowered students are engaged over time, and this engagement lasts!
Couros offers still more inspiration in his TED Talk Change is an Opportunity to Make Things Better, which is well worth watching.
I spent most of the past two weeks developing my prototype and my synthesis project. Essentially, the project consists of reflecting back on where I was when I started the Master's program, and it also documents the changes I have made to transform learning for my students. I hope to be a leader in helping other teachers make similar advances.
